Bruno Romanelli (Glass Quarterly)

by Emma Park

Emma Park reviews Bruno Romanelli's work in the Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass exhibition at Bellevue Arts Museum  in Glass Quarterly Spring Issue No. 166.

Each glass artist has their own perception of their medium and its capacities. For Romanelli, when glass is cast, "it's like no other material" in its ability to "hold" light within without projecting it outside. "It's almost like solid light." This illusion, by which light is transformed into a tangible substance, is precisely what sculptures like  Candidus I manage to achieve.
