Glass: Jun Kaneko

June 5 - July 20, 2002

The Bullseye Connection Gallery is proud to present new works by Jun Kaneko. The artist, renowned for his monolithic ceramic sculptures and expansive public art projects, continues his investigations in glass with multi-colored panels and suspended light towers.

The idea behind this second series of glass pieces exhibiting at Bullseye focuses on the possibility of developing a complex visual language within the simple placement of stringers on flat glass and the search for a new vocabulary of color and light...

...The challenge in making successful work is to create art that strongly engages the viewer's imagination in any environmental circumstance in which it is placed and experienced. Nothing exists by itself. Everything exists within the balance or imbalance of its relationship to others. This may be one of my central concerns and interests when creating any work.
