Carrie Iverson's newest installation, undercurrent, at the Portland Building exposes the often unremarked and unseen inner workings of the world around us.
“I am interested in the clinical and neutral aspect of officebuildings, in how so much of the structures within (both literally andfiguratively) are obscured,” says Iverson.
Through an investigative process Iverson offers us an intimate and eerie glimpse into the everyday. She explains, “By focusing on what is hidden and removed, I hope to create anenvironment of vulnerability and fragility, to document theundercurrents of a shared public space."
