Portland, OR- Bullseye Gallery is pleased to present Imprints, a solo exhibition of work by Joanne Teasdale, on view from March 30 – May 22, 2010.

"From light," says Teasdale, "I create intimacy. As it falls on a shoulder, it reveals a private moment and, as it shines through a dress, it exposes vulnerabilities." This exploration of light connects the glass, painting and photography presented in Imprints. "There is an energy," Teasdale explains, "circulating between these three media. I have chosen media that play with light." Teasdale uses the light-conductive qualities of glass, film and oil glaze to render the ethereal tangible.

Joanne Teasdale, who was an exhibiting abstract painter in her twenties, returned to art-making by translating her life experiences into meticulous photorealist paintings, then photography. Teasdale, whose artwork explores the human experience, often tells stories using light, and was naturally drawn to the capabilities of glass. In recent years she began studying the medium intensively under the tutelage of established artists, adding kilnformed glass to her repertoire in 2009. She currently lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico, exhibiting nationally and internationally.
