Panel Discussion: Painters in Glass

Michael Janis, Seeking Clarity, 2011
kilnformed glass, 12.5 x 12.5 x 1 inches

January 8, 2 - 4 pm

What happens when painters begin to work with kiln-glass? Are they still painters? What advantages do the materials and processes provide that can’t be found in other painting media? How does working in kiln-glass inform what artists do in other media? Join five painters whose work will be shown at Bullseye Gallery in January and February 2012 for a panel discussion focused on these questions. The artists will also present images and discuss their methods.

Michael Janis, Kari Minnick, Martha Pfanschmidt, Ted Sawyer, Abi Spring, and Jeff Wallin; moderated by Michael Endo
