I explore the perception and subconscious recognition of structures in the natural world, and translate them into glass sculptures. Drawing upon the mathematical structure of some corals, each sculpture begins with a crocheted hyperbolic plane, creating unique and unrepeatable forms to be transformed through the kilncasting process. Building on the structures, I add surface texture and play with the visual transparency and color to create unique sculptural pieces.
