Milan Krajicek

I come from the Czech-Moravian Highlands in Czech Republic. I was inspired by the traditional Czech cut glass décor in lead crystal called "three-faceted," which is made in my native region. I turned this decoration into its negative, using the mass removed by the glass cutter as the basis of my work. Symbolically speaking, that which usually disappears irretrievably here becomes the basis for the birth of something new.

Milan Krajicek  studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague. His work can be found in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts, Prague, and the Museum of Glass and Jewellery, Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic.
